The thyroid is a storage place in the throat where all air, food and water that enters the body passes through. This throat area is like a border patrol to treat incoming infections entering the country, your body.

--> Air, Food, Water, blood

Food and water.
When we eat and swallow the thyroid shakes up and down to release some iodine into the food or water that we swallowed.

Blood
The majority of blood that travels to your brain, eyes, ears, nose and throat first passes through the thyroid to pick up some iodine.
The master gland, like the conductor of an orchestra, signals the whole immune team on how loud to play, how much iodine to release into the bloodstream versus how much to keep in storage.

Air

All of the air that we breathe passes through the thyroid area and iodine can evaporate into the air to keep the lungs from an infection.

--> Lymph
The lymph system is extensive with the thyroid near the top to release iodine into the system. An extensive network which also travels down the neck, under the arms and into the breast tissue. A woman has a thyroid twice the size of a man so that it can store more iodine to release down into the breasts. Most breast cancer is from low levels of iodine. The most common location of breast cancer is along the lymph path from the arm pit towards the nipple. The larger thyroid in women helps to keep from going bald, blind or deaf. In fact women outlive men and in part from a more robust thyroid. Women tend to see colors better, hear better, have better language skills from a robust thyroid.
-Weak thyroid is often a precursor to breast cancer
Kidney problems can be reduced by supplying enough iodine along with zinc

Hyper-thyroid
When we have an infection in places like the kidney the conductor (pituitary) signals the thyroid to release more iodine into the blood that can then go to the kidney. The kidneys are highly dependent on the thyroid.

-hyper is when we are first infected,
heart and immune system is stimulated

Hypo-thyroid

The germs that cause infections are often found in air, food and water that have learned to target the thyroid with enzymes, antigens and antibodies to weaken the thyroid so that they can live comfortably in our body without being killed by iodine.
-hypo is once the infection is established for long term occupation
heart and immune system is weakened

Thyroid hormones

There are actually about 17 of them but similar to each other. The two most dominant are T3 and T4. Making these is a complex assembly and then cutting up which is very easy to stop by enzymes from germs, being viruses, bacteria, yeast, mold and parasites. These germs can live in any part of the body and weaken the thyroid's ability to make iodine hormones.
-Taking thyroid medications is to help your immune system
Should be adjusted carefully and slowly, no sudden change or the immune system becomes compromised and fails to protect us from infections.

TSH
means thyroid stimulating hormone that is the signal from the conductor and is not a thyroid hormone, just a signal.
-doctors use TSH to 'speculate' thyroid function
it actually nas nothing to do with the actual thyroid health, a big mistake

Measuring thyroid
The best way is to take your pulse, beats per minute, and temperature anytime in the morning but before you eat any food.
Once we eat the thyroid stimulates the heart to get digestion going.
In the morning your heart rate should be in the range of 65-85 and the temperature should be very close to 36.7C.
If both are low such as a pulse of 64 and a temperature of only 36.2 you would be hypo.
If both are high such as a pulse of 83 and a temp of 36.9 you would be hyper with an infection.
-doctors mess up people by cutting out the thyroid or chemically harming it in hyper people when they would do less harm by treating an infection which is the cause of hyper.
Hypo must be treated with thyroid medications to prevent serious lung, stomach or head infections such as cancer.

Chronic hypo
This is often the case before a person develops cancer or kidney failure.
Early symptoms are things like acid reflux, indigestion, constipation or diarrhea, irritable bowels.

Diet problems
Iodine like all minerals will not dissolve directly into water. Our blood plasma is water based.
Proteins and oils are needed to transport all minerals such as iodine.
The food that robs our minerals is when phytic acid is present.
Phytic acid is very high in legumes.
When we eat a lot of legumes (beans, seeds, grains) we lose iodine from the body and an early sign is the dark skin around the eyes or any part of the body with dark areas such as the knuckles. The Indian diet is very high in legumes which are the seeds of the plants.

Iodized salt
It is very important for all people to use an iodized salt.
Sea salt weakens the thyroid because of the seed weed and kelp that is high in sea salt.
-stop using sea salt,
switch to an iodized table salt that is white in color.

Pink Himalayan sea salt is the worst for the thyroid.
